Academic Enrichment - Literacy & Math Foundation G1-G2

The Academic Enrichment – Literacy & Math Foundation G1-G2 course offers a structured curriculum and extensive practice in key subject areas such as English and Math, providing students a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension as well as various tests and fun challenges to help expand their understanding of core Math skills.

Ms. Lynne Lim:

Ms. Lynne Lim has been an English Language teacher for over 20 years. Her professional history includes working with students from different cultural backgrounds in various primary and secondary schools in Singapore and the United States. She has taught English to students from different countries, e.g., Malaysia, China, France, Indonesia, the Philippines and the United States. She is currently teaching SAT English, Reading Comprehension and Writing Courses to students from Grades 5-12. Her SAT English class helps her students build a strong foundation in Reading and Writing to feel well-prepared and confident in taking the SAT when they are ready.

Alison Lennie:

Alison Lennie is a Bethesda native and a student at Colgate University, expecting to graduate in December 2024 with a major in religious studies and a minor in pure mathematics. After graduation, she hopes to continue onto graduate school to pursue a career in education. Outside of the classroom at Colgate, Alison volunteers in the community, teaching local kids math and ice skating. When she is not studying religious theory or math, Alison enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, playing with her dog, watching Jeopardy, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

In the Academic Enrichment – Literacy & Math Foundation G3-G4 course, students will work with a structured curriculum and extensive practice in key subject areas such as English and Math, building on their understanding of both subject areas. By using practice papers that help students learn critical thinking skills and strategies, students will be well prepared for the new school year with this course.

Middle School Math Masters: AMC & Mathcounts Prep

AMC & Mathcounts Prep, a dynamic camp for students in grades 4 and above! Campers will engage in intensive training for prestigious math competitions like the AMC and Mathcounts. The camp focuses on advanced math concepts like pre-Algebra and Algebra, problem-solving strategies, and fosters collaboration through team challenges.Join us for an exciting learning experience where young math enthusiasts build confidence and skills to excel in competitive mathematics!

English Language Test Preparation G4-6

English Language Test Preparation G4-G6 offers an environment for older students to further develop their literacy skills. By using a structured curriculum alongside practice sheets and other learning activities, students will develop a more comprehensive understanding of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing & language skills. With extensive coverage of materials and practice papers that aim to provide students a competitive edge in test taking, this course will be a great refresher for campers who already have a strong foundation in English language skills.

Math Jr. Competitive Math Preparation

Our Math Jr. Competitive Math Preparation course is designed to help students starting their journey into more complex Math problems. Students will learn to read and comprehend what they are solving through various tests and fun challenges—reviewing previous Math Kangaroo materials and building their skills for the variety of different math problems they will see in competition.
