Dance, Dance, Dance camp is a place for students looking to move and refine their dance, movement, and rhythm skills. Activities include dancer warm-up routines, floor work, and choreographic work. Moreover, in each component of the course, students will acquire fundamentals, flexibility, and creative exercise, focusing most heavily on each genre’s techniques, alignment, positions, and posture. The course will culminate in an end-of-session performance.

In our Drama & Performance camp, younger children will get a chance to experience the theater stage! Campers will work with our staff to learn the basics of performance and drama, and get a chance to express their creativity through their performance while learning about working with their fellow students. This camp is perfect for younger children who enjoy expressing themselves and entertaining others!
Dr. Nicole Taylor is a specialist in English Language Arts and Communications. She has over 20 years of experience teaching students of various grade levels Creative Writing, Public Speaking, Drama, Journalism, and Visual Arts. Dr. Taylor is passionate about instructing students using the Socratic Method and incorporating various art forms as a means of communicating ideas. She is excited to return to our Summer Camp this year and looks forward to working with our dynamic students!

Musical Theater is for Children looking to rise and expand their performance levels. Musical numbers & songs that speak to these older students’ current youth experiences and their wishes for the future. Campers will enjoy this opportunity to express themselves and build confidence, musicality, and group team building.
Ms. Abbey Monreal (she/her) is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire with a degree in K-12 Choral and General Music Education and a certificate in Fine Arts Administration. Along with her love of choral music, Abbey has always had a spot in her heart for theatre. She is also an avid composer and won second place in the choral division of the 2021-22 Metropolitan Youth Orchestra Emerging Composers Competition. Abbey has participated in and taught a variety of choral ensembles including treble choir, mixed choirs, contemporary a cappella, vocal jazz, show choir, and more. She is so excited to be part of the CCACC Summer Camp team!
A graduate of Montgomery College with an associates of Theater, Mr. Sohrob Rasoulpour is very passionate about everything musical and theater history based. Along with his degree, Sohrob has been in multiple productions over his eight year theater career ranging from high school to collegiate level productions. He has also done countless years of child-care ranging from infants all the way to high school. He is very excited to be teaching Kids Musical Theater and cannot wait to meet and work with all the lovely children

Children respond to music and sing numbers that speak to society as it is and how it could be. Musical Jr is an excellent camp for children to grow ready to take on new challenges. The activities include contrasting movement positions, speeds & tempos, balance, and games with directionality. Children and adults alike enjoy this unique experience that opens doors to self-expression, confidence, musicality, and group experience.

In The Runway – Young Models camp, students will learn about the basics of fashion and how to use their fashion skills to express their own unique style!

Chess Classes are designed for elementary and middle school-age students to appreciate the game of chess, practice the chess game, and improve upon their chess skills. The instructor will be using a mix of lectures and competitions on chess.com. Beginners will gain a full understanding of the rules of chess and the basic underlying concepts of the game.
Mr. Matthew Chesky has years of experience teaching math, computer science, and chess at educational institutions. In addition to CCACC Academy summer camps, Matthew is also a popular math and STEM teacher at our Afterschool program. He holds an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Frederick Community College. Mr. Matthew Chesky is happy to bring his experience and expertise to CCACC Academy. In his free time he enjoys grand strategy games and game development.

In CCACC Academy’s Fashion & Style – Makeup & Jewelry course, students will get a chance to explore their own unique fashion and style! Students will learn the basics of common fashion accessories including play jewelry and makeup

Learning to Cook Camp is a wonderful intensive introduction into the culinary world. Students will learn not only how to prepare delicious dishes, but will also learn proper kitchen etiquette and food service skills. With their newfound cooking confidence, students may even desire to assist in the kitchen at your family’s home!
Say “Hello!” to Ms. Dawn Covington, our Academy’s beloved creative arts and culinary instructor! Dawn has been teaching art for 25 years and has run several informal and formal cooking clubs and classes. She enjoys cooking for her kids and experimenting with new things in the art studio and the kitchen. She is excited to welcome hands-on learning and fun into the CCACC Afterschool Program.
Mr. Robert Cooley (“Chef Rob”) has over 18 years of experience in restaurants and catering. He attended culinary school at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky from 2004-2006, and it was there he developed a love for cooking and for teaching. Over the past 8 years he has been working with national foodservice companies to provide meals for college sororities and fraternities. During his time as a chef, he has always enjoyed teaching the basics of cooking from how to hold a knife, to how to measure liquids and dry ingredients. His goal this Summer is to create a fun and inviting class that will also implement the fundamentals needed to make a nutritious and simple meal.
