3D Kids Clay

Our 3D Kids Clay course is perfect for kids who love working with clay or Play-Dough to make their own works of art! Students will work with their hands to construct, model, and manipulate materials and objects to create their own sculptures with modeling clay. Works will range from relief works to sculpture in the round inspired by Alexander Calder, Kimmy Cantrell, Minecraft, Sharon Strong, and more. Campers will walk away with their own pieces of art to keep and cherish!

Ms. Elizabeth Drake is an undergraduate student studying Early Childhood Education and Special Education at the College of Education at the University of Maryland. She holds an Associate degree in Early Childhood and Special Education and an Advanced CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) Tutoring certification. Elizabeth has been supporting the growth and development of children through nannying, babysitting, and teaching for nearly nine years. Working to help others learn and smile has always been her main passion. This summer, Elizabeth is pleased to be working with you and your family as a camp instructor at CCACC Academy and looks forward to meeting everyone soon.

Cartoons & Caricatures

Scholars in this course will gain exposure to the tools of Cartooning and Character Design. Scholars will learn the Traditional method and the Digital Tools that are now Industry Standards. Students will need to bring a sketchbook and be prepared to take notes.

Ms. Jenette Harris is a December 2021 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts with a B.F.A in Communication Arts and a minor in Art History. She is currently a freelance artist and aspiring concept artist with a passion for all things entertainment. Jenette creates illustrations and designs from her home in Columbia. As a student, Jenette has worked as an art camp counselor, after school art instructor and personal art tutor for many youngsters looking to feed their creative spirit. Teaching a range of artistic skills, Jenette specializes in cartooning and digital art with an emphasis on imaginative storytelling.

Crafts & Creativity

This is a hands-on, craft making camp for any young student who likes to work with their hands and create! Students will go beyond traditional painting and drawing to create works of art. Projects in this camp include, but are not limited to, collaging, fiber arts, wire sculptures, and paper mache. This is a great camp for any students looking to work with lots of unique materials and get crafty!

Drawing & Painting Jr - Gallery Inspired

The Drawing & Painting Jr – Gallery Inspired course lets our younger campers learn the basics of drawing and painting! Perfect for students 6 and older, the course will focus on teaching the basics of drawing and painting while allowing students to explore how to best express their own creativity. The course will also let students take inspiration from other works of art made by past CCACC students and let campers experience the world of art from their own perspective!

DIY Maker Lab Adv -
Sewing, Woody etc & Interior Design

The Advanced DIY Maker Lab course is a more complex approach to 3D modeling and design that incorporates architecture and structures. Campers ages 8+ will participate in the design process during various fun hands-on projects and will also learn architectural drawing and design methods.

The Enlightened Art Studio Jr. goes through popular children’s books and their illustrators, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, created by Eric Carle. Our younger campers learn the basics of 2D Art and working in the style of the illustrators they learn about! Perfect for students six and older, the course will focus on teaching the basics of drawing and painting while allowing students to explore how to express their own creativity best!

Kids Comics - Storybook Design

Experience a fun creative story building course! Campers ages 6 to 8 will develop a storybook with the guidance of a camp instructor by creating an outline, developing the plot, and then creating visual illustrations to support the narrative they create. Kids will not only improve on their story writing skills but will also work on presenting their story to others.

Kids Comics Adv - 3D Digital Art Animation & Cartooning

Walk through the steps of a professional cartoonist to create a personal one of a kind cartoon in this Advanced Kids Comics course! Campers ages 9+ will start off by exploring various cartooning techniques and ways of planning out a visual story before learning how to create and animate these images on the computer. At the conclusion of the course all students will have a unique cartoon to share and a portfolio of storyboards to share with friends and family.

Ms. Aehyun (Anne) Noh has experience as a freelance 3D Modeler in addition to years of experience in other digital art programs. She is currently working as a Framer at a Michaels store. Anne studied Digital Art at Pratt Institute. She looks forward to using her experience to help children at CCACC Academy express their creativity this summer.

Paper Art - Mechanical Prototyping & Application

This exciting introductory STEAM course combines art creation with engineering. Campers will gain a stronger understanding of basic mechanics and structural engineering by working with different types of paper material. Each day they will not only create projects, but learn the constraints of various materials and how to modify their designs.

Sketchbook Intensive & Visual Journaling

Sketchbook Intensive is an advanced approach to sketching and creating. Students will learn several creative planning and artistic development techniques to address a particular theme. Visual journaling allows for the use of unique materials inside a sketchbook format. Throughout the camp in order to perfect already established art making skills and establish strong planning and creative routines, students will have multiple levels to their assignments and have suggested assignments to take home.
